Red Mole was an experimental theatre troupe from Aotearoa New Zealand that emerged in the mid-1970s. An eclectic mix of poetry, dance, mask, fire-eating and rock music, the troupe outraged many in the older generation but was embraced by the counterculture. By 1980, Red Mole departed for New York City, reaching some acclaim until the demands of the city fragmented its core.

Set in Gore, New Zealand in 2005, n00b follows the social downfall of Nikau Bennett, King of Gore College and all-around-party animal. Red Mole was an experimental theatre troupe from Aotearoa New Zealand that emerged in the mid-1970s. An eclectic mix of poetry, dance, mask, fire-eating and rock music, the troupe outraged many in the older generation but was embraced by the counterculture. By 1980, Red Mole departed for New York City, reaching some acclaim until the demands of the city fragmented its core.

In 2022, The Public Good is proud to help launch New Zealand’s inaugural Scandi Film Festival.
